The Cairns sculptures are made from cold moulded recycled paper which is then air dried to reduce its environmental impact. The shapes that are created are coloured with natural pigments that highlight the effects of the material.
Other finishes are possible.

Shape(s)

A cairn is a pile of stones that has been artificially created to mark a trail or specific place. Similarly, these sculptures play with shapes and the notion of an apparently random pile. As if frozen in movement, the raw elements in a range of sizes and formats are stacked to create a totemic, organic object, which reveals both is strength and its fragility through its presence.
